Obviously these .gov and .edu sites provide more effect than a website containing ext .com. I always do prefer commenting on these kinda of website rather than others but its really hard to find these kinda website in my opinion who gives u link easily.

I've read somewhere that .gov and .edu websites no longer command better reputation than other domain websites. It usually falls to whether that website has good content and is really an authority. So I suggest that people be very careful getting links from websites and not base it just because they have .gov and .edu domains.

the most .gov blogs are spammed. thats why i don't use this linkresource, because of a bad neighbourhood!

.edu and .gov sites are really trusted by search engines. They helped on you SEO as its quite a big factor when there are .edu or .gov sites linking to you. There are a lot of them though most of them are moderated and so you must be careful on commenting on such topics.
